Burlington Ventures was formed in 1988 to provide a range of real estate services such as development, property management, investments, brokerage and construction services. Since its inception, the company’s mission has been to enhance the properties we manage and improve their marketability. Burlington Ventures is involved with the Austin Apartment Association, Texas Apartment Association, Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, Austin Board of Realtors and the Urban Land Institute.
Steve Beuerlein
President
Steve graduated from the University of Texas in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and accepted a staff engineering job with Professional Service Industries’ office in Tampa, Florida. He later became the youngest Division Manager in the company’s history.
Steve returned to Austin during the summer of 1988, and began Burlington Ventures, Inc., a real estate investment company specializing in the renovation and development of commercial and multi-family properties in the central Austin area. For the past 25 years, Steve has focused on identifying, acquiring, and improving real estate sites in dynamic areas of Austin.
Steve is a member of St. Austin’s Church, West Austin Youth Association, and active in various civic, educational & charitable organizations in Austin.
Michelle Skeen James
Vice President
Michelle is a native Austinite with 26+ years experience in Austin real estate. Michelle began pursuing her degree at Austin College in Sherman and finished with a B. A. from the University of Texas at Austin.
Michelle has been a vital part of Burlington Ventures since 1996. During this time, she has been involved with various development and redevelopment projects while also managing other projects in our portfolio. Michelle has built a reputation of professionalism and dedication to project goals, which enables her to anticipate needs of clients and handle issues effectively. Michelle oversees accounting, Smart Housing, affordable housing compliance, budgeting, day-to-day property management operations, and human resources. Michelle has held her real estate license since 1996 and currently licensed as a Texas real estate broker.
Michelle’s commitment to service and integrity is demonstrated through volunteer work as an Assistant Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America, specifically with her sons’ troop. She enjoys the outdoors and reading books on her spare time.
Trevor Dickens
Associate
Trevor grew up in Austin and graduated from the University of Texas with a major in Government and a minor in Business. While in school, Trevor interned for a commercial real estate company and also obtained his real estate license. Before graduating, he began representing friends and family in various real estate transactions.
Since starting with Burlington Ventures in 2007, Trevor has gained experience with asset management, brokerage, construction administration, development, marketing, and property management. Trevor’s background allows him to be a valuable member of the Burlington Ventures Team. Trevor is a member of the Austin Board of Realtors, active in the Urban Land Institute partnership forum, and a licensed Texas real estate broker.
Bill Clawson
Maintenance Supervisor
Bill is experienced with troubleshooting HVAC, mechanical / electrical / plumbing systems, and appliances. Bill oversees maintenance staff, schedules subcontractors, and keeps properties running as smoothly as possible. Bill has worked with Burlington Ventures since 2004. Prior to starting with Burlington Ventures, Bill worked with an HVAC installation & repair company.
Jeff Mann
Associate
Jeff grew up in Dallas, TX and his Real Estate experience started at a young age. His dad had rental properties within the Dallas metroplex and Jeff got to witness the property owner / landlord perspective and enjoyed helping his dad with his properties. After his enlistment ended with the United States Air Force (stationed in Colorado) in 2015, Jeff jumped into the Real Estate industry and currently licensed as a Texas Real Estate Salesperson. At BVI, Jeff works in the Leasing department, primarily with the residential properties. Jeff offers a tailored experience with people looking to find their next home. In his free time, Jeff enjoys staying active (probably will see him running at Lady Bird), paddleboarding, learning new things and traveling with friends and family.
Carly Reis
Residential Portfolio Manager
Ms. Reis is a Texas native, however after finishing high school she moved to San Diego where she began her career in real estate – starting with residential property management, then obtaining her California Real Estate License before achieving greater prestige as a Commercial Property Manager for larger firms, including CBRE. During her 20 plus year career, Ms. Reis has developed leadership and management skills which help her shine at her Residential Portfolio Manager position. Ms. Reis’ experience and sensibilities position her for providing first-rate support for our valued residents.
Ms. Reis began working with Burlington Ventures in July of 2020. She currently manages multiple multifamily communities, including a small portfolio of single-family properties. Ms. Reis participates in annual continuing education classes through Austin Apartment Association and is currently working on obtaining her Texas Real Estate Salesperson License. When Ms. Reis isn’t at the office, you can find her enjoying outdoor sporting activities, exploring Austin, or spending time with family and friends.
Henry Ames
Associate
Henry grew up in Austin before attending The University of Mississippi, where he majored in Real Estate. During his summers in college, Henry returned home and interned for a commercial general contractor, an oil and gas investment company, and finally BVI in 2020. He began working full time in 2021. Having grown up in Austin, he has seen first hand how the city has transformed over the years to become home to one of the country’s hottest real estate and job markets.
At BVI, Henry works with the accounting, property management, and leasing departments while he is currently working on obtaining his real estate license. In his free time, along with being an avid sports fan, Henry enjoys playing golf, traveling, and hunting with friends and family.

These are the familiar faces you’ll see when a problem needs solving with anything inside your home. Providing superb customer service in a timely manner, our maintenance team is always happy to help. Spending time with family, enjoying a nice day in Austin, and reminiscing about old scary movies are just a few things that our maintenance team likes.
